House rules and guest policies at Donner Lake Inn — quiet hours, pet and smoking policies, occupancy, and other expectations.
Quiet hours
Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM. Sound carries between rooms and across the property. Please be considerate of other guests, especially in the evenings and early mornings.
Pets
Donner Lake Inn does not allow pets. Service animals (as defined by the ADA) are welcome where legally required. This is partly for guests with allergies and partly to keep the property in good condition for all guests.
Smoking
The entire property is smoke-free — including all guest rooms, balconies, and outdoor common areas. This includes cigarettes, cigars, vaping, and cannabis. A cleaning fee applies for any smoking that occurs on the property.
Maximum occupancy
Each room has a stated maximum occupancy that may not be exceeded:
- Deluxe Suite: up to 4 guests
- Superior Suite: up to 5 guests
Additional guests beyond the stated capacity are not permitted and may result in being asked to leave without a refund.
Children
Children are welcome and the inn is well-suited to family stays. Parents are responsible for supervising children at all times, including on the property, around the hot tub, and on the public beach.
Hot tub
The outdoor hot tub is shared among all guests. Hours are posted on site. Use is at your own risk; please follow posted safety guidelines, including not entering if pregnant, under the influence, or with health conditions affected by hot water. Children must be supervised.
Property care
Please treat the rooms and grounds with care. Damage beyond ordinary wear and tear may be billed to the guest’s card on file. Lost room keys or door codes that need re-keying may incur a fee.
Parking
Free on-site parking is provided. Please use designated spots so other guests have access. Let us know in advance if you have an oversized vehicle, more than one car, or need EV charging.
Check-in and check-out
- Check-in: 4:00 PM (often available earlier — text us)
- Check-out: 10:00 AM
- Late check-out may be possible with advance notice depending on availability.
