Cancellation Policy

7-day cancellation policy

Reservations cancelled more than 7 days before the arrival date receive a full refund of the deposit.

Reservations cancelled within 7 days of the arrival date are non-refundable.

Deposit

A deposit equal to the first night’s room rate plus tax is charged at the time of booking. This deposit is fully refundable if you cancel outside the 7-day window.

Weather

Donner Lake Inn is located in a mountain environment in the Sierra Nevada where winter storms are a normal and expected part of the season, sometimes lasting into early May. We are not able to make exceptions to the 7-day cancellation policy for weather conditions unless the inn itself is forced to close. We recommend travel insurance if weather risk is a concern.

Bookings through Expedia, Booking.com, Airbnb, and other OTAs

If you booked through an online travel agency (Expedia, Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.), your cancellation must be processed through them rather than directly with the inn. They control the charge and refund, and we cannot process refunds on bookings made through their platforms.

How to cancel

The fastest way to cancel a direct booking is to call or text us at (530) 587-5574. Email is also fine: stay@donnerlakeinn.com. Please include your reservation name and dates.

Minimum stay

A two-night minimum stay applies on Friday and Saturday nights. This drops to a one-night minimum approximately 7 days before arrival for dates that remain unbooked. Single-night stays are generally available mid-week.
